Sculptures

My work challenges the boundaries between liquids and solids, as well as the labels we use to define and separate life forms. I aim to create pieces that inhabit a liminal, ambiguous space—where things merge, transform, and evolve. Through my work, I invite a rethinking of the distinctions between ourselves and other beings, embracing a holistic view of existence rather than a binary one.

I strive for a sense of fluidity and transformation in my sculptures, using layered glazes that capture a sense of flowing motion across the surface. These forms evoke life in a transitional state, as if they’re embodiments of beings suspended between plant, animal, and human forms.

In addition, I aim to evoke a distinctly feminine sensibility, one that perceives the fluid and ever-changing cycles of evolution, birth, and death through a spiritual lens. As in my drawings, I explore the intersection where science, spirituality, and art converge. Ceramics, with its rich tradition of creating both functional and ornamental objects, often signifies luxury and opulence. The ornate organic forms of Art Nouveau and Baroque—both art movements that embraced excess—are key influences in my work.

However, rather than ending at mere aesthetic opulence, I use beauty, intricacy, and excess as a means to delve into deeper aspects of existence, such as aging, death, and the evolution of consciousness. My work reflects a shift from an “egocentric” view to a more expansive, holistic perspective—one that recognizes all living beings as interconnected and part of a greater whole.

Paintings

Through my acrylic abstract paintings, I strive to encapsulate the profound essence of natural phenomena that envelop our existence. The vibrant colors I employ possess an inherent temperature, evoking sensations akin to plunging into the refreshing, enigmatic depths of the ocean or basking in the radiant proximity of a flowing lava stream. Additionally, my art serves as a metaphor for the intricate interplay of unconscious thoughts and emotions that give rise to our reactive behavior. These paintings further embody the captivating allure of fractal patterns, where recurring motifs manifest at increasingly intricate levels, mirroring phenomena like crystalline growth, dynamic fluidity, and the enigmatic formation of galaxies.

Drawings

This collection of drawings is a fusion of pen, ink, acrylic, and colored pencil on mylar. By employing mylar as the canvas, a profound and lustrous white space is created, providing a backdrop where each form levitates, seemingly existing in a captivating three-dimensional realm. Within these drawings, an intriguing combination of alien aesthetics and ancient influences merges with a hybrid essence encompassing plant, animal, and human forms. The fluid movement and mesmerizing repetition within the artwork give rise to structures reminiscent of fractals, echoing the abundant patterns found in nature.
